If you have any general questions, I am always available to help you. Wishing you all a very safe and relaxing spring break!

Mrs. Huskey

Dear Class of 2021 Students and Parents,

Now that the second semester is well underway, we are excited to look forward to what is ahead for the Class of 2021, especially because of the unique challenges we have faced together this school year.  Today, I am happy to share this important senior update with you.

In order to have the least restrictive senior activity and commencement options, we have tried to remain flexible and hold off on finalizing these events with the hope that Covid rates would decrease.  Luckily, Covid rates have decreased and, while we cannot necessarily have events exactly as we did before, the improved situation does give us significantly more flexibility than just a month or two ago.  As we all know, the situation is unpredictable and we will have to adjust if necessary, but as of today, the following are our senior activity plans:

  • The commencement ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 3rd indoors at The Bridge auditorium.  We anticipate that the number of guests will be very limited, but we will also be live streaming this event.  A link will be provided for you to share with family and friends who cannot attend.  The ceremony will not be exactly the same as past ceremonies, but we will do our best to include the most important elements of this special day.

  • We have approved a Junior/Senior Prom and have asked ASB to take the lead on this event.  We have shared very specific safety information with them and the date and venue have been set for May 7th at Whispering Oaks Terrace.  Expect something a bit different, but still very special.

  • We are planning for an outdoor senior breakfast on campus on the same day of commencement rehearsal, which is scheduled for June 3rd.

  • As you know the traditional Grad Nite event was cancelled by Disneyland.  Although we can’t make any promises, we are keeping our eyes open for possible options that would meet safety requirements.

  • We will not be hosting a “Senior Signing Ceremony,” but we will be hosting a virtual department award event for seniors only.

  • To help build Class of 2021 spirit, class t-shirts have just been added to the TPS webstore for $10.

I ask for your patience while we finalize important details for these events.  We will provide information as soon as possible in order to allow you as much planning time as possible.

Seniors, the fact that you have been impacted by the pandemic during what most would agree are the two years students look forward to most, does not escape me. It is normal to feel disappointment for what has been lost and to acknowledge the difficulties you have experienced, but I want to encourage you to push forward and to look towards a brighter future, which includes your graduation.  Maya Angelou once said, “You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”  What has transpired over the past year does not make you less in any way.  In fact, in my opinion you are more because you have shown more perseverance and more fortitude than any other graduating class in Temecula Preparatory School’s history.  I am proud of you and I ask each of you to do your best to meet the goal of high school graduation.

Your opinions are important to us, so if you have any suggestions or comments we welcome your feedback.

Sincerely,

Julie Fuller

Upper School Dean

“Senior Week” is typically the last week seniors are at school.  Once the specifics have been finalized, the information will be shared in the “Finals Schedule & Senior Week Activities” section below.

FINALS SCHEDULE & SENIOR WEEK ACTIVITIES

  • Senior Check-out: Seniors return books, clean out lockers, finalize any outstanding academic concerns, and have a variety of areas checked off by staff members.
  • Senior Department Awards:  We will be hosting a virtual awards ceremony to celebrate the senior standouts.  Details will be shared as soon as possible.
  • Senior Breakfast: PATS is graciously hosting the breakfast for our seniors. Seniors will eat together and the commencement rehearsal will follow (at TPS – not the commencement venue.)

At this time, we are only able to say that tickets to commencement will be very limited and we will provide the information as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, Disneyland has officially cancelled the Grad Nite event as of November, 2020 due to continued state guidelines that affect amusement parks.  Like many of the senior activities, we are closely monitoring what options we may have and will let you know any updates as soon as possible.  We can’t promise, but we keeping our eyes open for an activity that would meet the safety requirements at this time.

* Currently our plan is as follows, however things may change due to COVID-19 mandates.  We will update you and this page as the date gets closer.

  • There are no sitting fees
  • No money is required on picture days.
  • These photos will be used for the Senior Class yearbook page.
  • After proofs are available, whether you purchase a photo package or not, you will be able to choose the photo you like best from the “traditional” attire photos (not cap & gown attire) and that photo will be included in the yearbook.
  • The following information may change:  You do not need to purchase any special clothing for this photography sitting.  A traditional formal black drape and a mock suit (jacket, shirt, and tie) will be provided.  You will be selecting the photo for the yearbook from this attire.
  • Students will also be taking photos in a provided cap and gown.  This will be an option for you to purchase, but will not be included as a yearbook choice.

Information will be shared as soon as it is available.
