TPS' Economic Fair is an annual spring project for its Senior Class. It is led by faculty advisor, Eric Resh, and is a favorite project. It teaches students economic and business terms and concepts by intertwining them into a project that students can understand. Students set up fake businesses and vie for a contest using pretend money. At the economic fair, students run their "businesses" and try to market to the general student body and staff members who are given fake dollars to "spend" at the fair on goods and services. Students learn how to incorporate, file permits, file tax forms, hire employees, comply with government agencies, etc. It's a rich learning experience for all students especially those who have an entrepreneurial bent.
